Gorillaz to headline Park Live Almaty 2026

International music festival Park Live Almaty has announced its first headliner for the 2026 event — the virtual band Gorillaz.

Almaty is set to host the festival from Aug. 21 to 23, marking the third edition of the event in the city. The full lineup has not yet been revealed, but the main announcement is already here: Gorillaz will perform on Aug. 22, 2026.

Park Live continues its formula of mixing international artists with local talent. Organizers say they aim to strengthen Almaty’s reputation as the region’s music hub. Last year, the festival drew more than 40,000 attendees.

Gorillaz is a multimedia project created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. Their virtual band and genre-blending music have become a staple of global pop culture, earning numerous awards and attracting a worldwide fan base.

The group recently announced their ninth album, «The Mountain,» scheduled for release on March 20, 2026. On Aug. 22, Gorillaz will perform new tracks alongside their all-time hits.

Main ticket sales begin on Nov. 17 via Ticketon.kz.

Separately, Almaty will host Slaughter to Prevail in February 2026 — the internationally recognized Russian deathcore band.
