Coca Cola to invest $83 million in new plant in Kazakhstan

The Kazakh government has approved an investment agreement to launch a new soft drink plant in the Aktobe region next year. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

The project’s investor, Coca-Cola Almaty Bottlers LLC, is ready to allocate approximately $83 million to the new production site. Once fully operational, the plant will be able to produce up to 280 million liters of non-alcoholic beverages a year and provide jobs for 120 people.

The plant will utilize modern production solutions, including environmentally friendly waste management systems that meet international standards. Officials said the project is fully consistent with the government’s commitment to promoting the manufacturing industry and a sustainable economy in Kazakhstan.

According to Kompra, Coca-Cola Almaty Bottlers is owned by the Dutch company CCI International Holland and the Turkish company Coca-Cola İçecek Anonim. It is part of the Turkish group of companies Coca-Cola İçecek, which operates 36 factories in 12 countries, three of which are located in Kazakhstan — in Almaty, Astana and Shymkent. The most recent plant, in Shymkent, was launched a year ago and cost $53.6 million.
